Mobile Stars Planetarium We bring the Universe To your venue ó Educational ó Entertaining ó ó Lots of fun ó As the Sun sets and the sky
fades to blackness the patterns of the constellations come into view.
The ancient
patterns of the stars tell the stories of Kings and Queens and many
fabulous creatures from mythology. The
show begins with a guided tour of the night sky, pointing out the main
constellations. Amongst
the stars we see the Moon and Sun, making their way along the zodiac. A
slide show takes the occupants on a trip around the Solar System, visiting
each planet in turn. As we approach the planets we see fiery landscapes
and frozen wastes. About the Planetarium
The
planetarium dome is a light-proof, inflatable hemisphere. The dome fits
comfortably into most school or village halls, Inside
the dome is a Starlab sky projector, which produces a realistic
representation of the night sky in motion. Disabled
access can be achieved by simply lifting the skirt of the dome.
In
an emergency the dome can be evacuated in seconds by lifting the skirt of
the dome up and over the occupants. The
dome can be deflated and moved aside, if necessary, and inflated again for
a further session. The
planetarium dome holds up to about thirty children or twenty adults. Shows
are presented by staff who are qualified both in astronomy and teaching,
with much experience in teaching astronomy to people of all ages. |
